Getting started

How to Use RenaPATH

Two structured pathways — one for learners building visual expertise, one for educators guiding them.

For Learners

Step 1

Begin with observation

Start with rapid visual review, then slow down to identify key structures, compartments, stains, and patterns.

Step 2

Practice pattern recognition

Use the pattern library and guided modules to recognize common renal pathology findings — sclerosis, crescents, nodular mesangial expansion, interstitial fibrosis, tubular atrophy, vascular changes, immune deposits, and other core patterns.

Step 3

Connect image to reasoning

Move from visual finding → pattern → differential diagnosis → clinical context → likely next step.

Step 4

Reflect and recalibrate

Review your confidence, missed features, and feedback. Use repeated practice to improve accuracy and visual reasoning.

For Educators

Step 1

Create or assign learning modules

Use cases, images, and questions to guide learners through renal pathology patterns.

Step 2

Track learner progress

Review aggregate performance, confidence calibration, missed patterns, and common diagnostic gaps.

Step 3

Support targeted teaching

Use learner analytics to guide small-group teaching, case conferences, board preparation, and remediation.

RenaPATH is intended for medical education only. It is not a diagnostic tool and should not be used for patient care decisions.
